Empowering People Through Uplifting Opportunities: The Birth of the Succentrix Foundation

April 20, 2026

In recent decades, the financial industry has endured significant transformations, often to the detriment of the careers of its professionals.

With the Wall Street bubble of the 1990s, Corporate America’s shifting priorities placed stock prices above employee loyalty, leading to an environment where financial experts became overworked and faced diminishing job security.

The Succentrix Legacy

In response to these challenges, Alan Padgett, Johnette Padgett, and Wayne Nix founded Succentrix Business Advisors franchise in 2014 to empower financial professionals by providing a career path with autonomy and flexibility backed by robust support, technology, and infrastructure.

Recognizing that business startup costs could be a massive barrier to entry, understanding that financial skills didn’t always translate to entrepreneurial success, and believing that hard work and integrity would inevitably lead to growth and prosperity for those who shared their vision, this founding trio wanted to further open the door of opportunity for financial pros by keeping the initial investment and subsequent royalties as reasonable as possible.

Over the next decade, Succentrix continued to pioneer this new mindset about how careers in the financial sector could look, growing from a visionary concept to a nationwide network of over 33 offices in 16 states.

In 2022, Bill and Emily Stansbury, five-year Succentrix franchisees from West Monroe, La., acquired the company and sought to build upon the pioneering spirit instilled by the company founders.

While retaining Nix and other key executives, under Stansbury’s leadership, Succentrix has further redefined what a financial-sector career can become by focusing on franchisee equity ownership, AI integration, and expanded business advisory services as part of its continued commitment to innovation.

Through its franchise model, Succentrix enables accountants, Enrolled Agents, and bookkeepers to operate their own businesses with the backing of corporate-level resources and branding.

The Story of the Succentrix Foundation: From Vision to Action

Despite prosperity and increased standards of living throughout much of American society, many people continue to face numerous barriers that challenge their economic stability and potential for advancement. A lack of access to resources such as financial literacy, digital skills, business education, and mentorship exacerbates this gap between socioeconomic classes, leaving many without means to build sustainable futures.

Recognizing that these challenges strikingly mirrored what the Padgetts confronted a decade earlier, the Stansburys established the Succentrix Foundation in 2024 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Foundation seeks to provide education, technology, mentorship, and financial capital to individuals striving to improve their economic standings. By offering structured support to small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking financial independence, the Foundation aims to equip disadvantaged individuals in their efforts to overcome socioeconomic barriers and become productive citizens.

The Vision and Mission of the Foundation

The foundation’s board of directors created the following guideposts for the organization:

Vision Statement: To equip disadvantaged individuals, empower them to transcend socioeconomic barriers, and enable them to share opportunities to become productive citizens

Mission Statement: Succentrix Foundation will change the American economic landscape through comprehensive support of both personal and professional entrepreneurial growth, including education, technology, mentorship, and financial assistance. From foundational digital and financial literacy to advanced career development and strategic guidance, we will provide access to resources needed to achieve lasting upward mobility and to create positive economic impacts.

The Foundation’s Three Core Initiatives

While recognizing economic empowerment as a multifaceted issue, Succentrix Foundation chose to gather and utilize resources to confront three specific aspects of it.

  1. Supporting Small-Business Startups During Their First Five Years

Many small businesses fail within their first five years of existence due to a lack of financial and strategic guidance. The Foundation seeks to address this crisis by offering financial assistance, mentorship, and business advisory services to entrepreneurs, aiming to reduce the financial burden of professional services and enhance business sustainability and growth.

  1. Digital and Financial Literacy Programs

A deficiency in financial literacy and digital skills severely limits employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly among economically disadvantaged populations. The Foundation offers structured educational programs focusing on financial skills, job readiness, and entrepreneurship with its literacy programs divided into two tracks:

  • Employment track: equips individuals with digital skills and financial literacy to secure better job opportunities
  • Entrepreneurial track: guides aspiring entrepreneurs on business structuring, legal compliance, and growth strategies

These initiatives aim to increase job readiness, boost successful small business launches, and enhance financial competence in disadvantaged communities.

  1. Franchise Scholarships for Disadvantaged Accountants

Many skilled accounting professionals lack the capital or entrepreneurial skills to start their own firms. The Foundation provides scholarships that enable these individuals to purchase and operate Succentrix Business Advisors franchise offices. This program offers mentorship, business development support, and integration into a national network of accounting and advisory professionals. Inspired by a donation from Foundation board member Mark McIntyre, this initiative leverages franchising as a tool for economic mobility.

Strategic Growth and Partnerships

To sustain and expand its programs, the Foundation seeks to utilize:

  • Grant applications: Collaborating with Merchant McIntyre Associates, the leading federal appropriations agency serving nonprofits, the Foundation actively pursues funding opportunities identified by its dedicated grant writer.
  • Corporate partnerships: Engaging with banks, corporations, and educational institutions, the Foundation enhances its digital literacy, financial literacy, and business development initiatives. These partnerships strengthen community engagement, increase educational resources, and broaden the reach and impact of the Foundation’s programs.

Conclusion: A Foundation for the Future

Looking ahead, the Foundation plans to expand its programs, respond to economic shifts such as AI-driven and government-downsizing job displacement, and strengthen partnerships to maximize its multifaceted social impact.

The Succentrix Foundation stands at the intersection of business, education, and community empowerment. By addressing economic inequality through targeted financial education, startup support, and career development, the Foundation seeks to create financial empowerment and lasting socioeconomic change.

Clearly, as the American populous and its leaders call for true change, greater efficiency, and equity in our country and its institutions, the Succentrix Foundation stands ready to become a driver and definer of a new wave of American opportunity and prosperity.
